Massage as a Stress Reliever and Preventative Medium
At The Human Health Place, we are strong believers in the use of massage and soft tissue work. Not only does therapeutic massage help to loosen muscles that may be responsible for chronic vertebral subluxation, it helps to relax the patient and to reduce stress levels. It is estimated that 80% of disease is stress-related and studies have shown that human touch is a very simple and effective way to generate positive energy in the body and to reduce the occurrence of disease. Individuals who receive massage regularly have been shown to be more alert, to perform better on the job. They also tend to be less stressed than their counterparts who do not receive regular massage therapy.
There are different types of massages and at The Human Health Place, although we look forward to helping patients relieve stress through human touch, our main goal with massage is to soften muscles and break up muscular adhesions that may be causing negative tension or creating spasm and pain. We work with muscles to release stress and tension, to increase range of motion, and to ultimately prevent injury.
